Upward! community gathered in 2010 originally initiated by Petr Laden and Daniil Zinchenko it had open structure of participation and during its existence more than 20 artists participated in projects of the community.
The community explored russian cosmism philosophy, examining themes including brotherhood, ethics in action, cross-species interaction, and perceptions of time, space, death, and cosmic infinity within cultural contexts.
Main projects of the community (actions and exhibitions) took place in nature, places like forests, ice fields, parks, swamps, etc. In museum space only documentation materials have been shown after.
Key initiatives included constructing “The Temple of Cosmism — virtual distributed space uniting art, science, religion and politics” and producing video works promoting the community’s philosophical framework.
